Our Christmas Party was held at the Methodist Chapel Hall with catering from Ingleby Arms of Amcotts and what a beautiful meal they provided. Great musical entertainment from Wendy and friends followed and whenever we hear the “12 Days of Christmas” again we will certainly remember their performance . Our last meeting before Christmas brought us “The History of Pantomime” with Sue Dolby who gave such an interesting presentation.
We learnt just before Christmas that our funding application to the Big Lottery Awards for All had been successful and we were awarded £9210 to cover costs of transport, hall hire and training for the next 12 months. We are now making plans for our members to enjoy the social life that they are accustomed to and will continue to provide them with the support that they need. Later on this year, we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary and of course we intend to do this in style!
Our Annual Charity Fair will be held on Saturday 23rd April 2016 at the Trinity Methodist Church, King Street, Winterton from 2 pm to 4pm. We have an NLC Markets Policy consent for the event. Again we are inviting voluntary groups and crafters to have a stall at our event. This is a good opportunity to promote your work and raise some funds with a minimal outlay: £4 per table for voluntary groups and £5 for crafters.
To book a stall contact: Nicki on 733441 or email: [email protected]
Our New Age Kurling and Boccia sessions are held every Wednesday at Winterton Community Pavilion. Sessions are open to non Club members. Come and find for yourself what it is all about and get into a gentle exercise routine.
Sadly some of our long serving volunteers have had to call it a day and we are in desperate need for volunteers who could spare a bit of time to give a helping hand to our members on our assisted shopping and trips. Training will be given and expenses paid. This is an excellent opportunity to visit places at no cost to yourself. Interested? Ring 733441.
Our website is well visited by people as far away as Netherlands, Russia, India, China, Australia, Canada and USA. Why not keep up with our news update on www.wintertondisclub.weebly.com.
