Our Annual Charity Fair was very well attended and has attracted many positive feedbacks. Thank you to all who made it such a success.
The Lincolnshire Community Foundation has awarded £1000 from Comic Relief for us to start Boccia sessions. This will be yet another opportunity for our members to socialise and keep active. We intend to open these sessions to all. We will be running the sessions alongside Kurling to start us off and once established we will see about running Boccia sessions on their own. Come and join us every Wednesday at the Newport Drive Community Pavilion from 2pm to 4pm. Cost per session is £1 and includes refreshments.
Our AGM will be held on the 3rd June at Trinity Methodist Church Hall, 2pm. We will shortly be celebrating our 23rd Birthday in July with a Party. This year our members will go down memory lane dressed up 1940s style and entertained by Marlaina Rube.
We are starting our summer trips with a visit to the Museum of Lincolnshire Life and further destinations are being looked into for the next 4 months. Of course suitable accessible transport is still a major issue. The minibus taken away from us may now be parked in Winterton but as we predicted this doesn’t make any difference to us....too many restrictions prevent us hiring it. It is very sad to see that North Lincs Council doesn’t grasp how the voluntary sector works resulting in a minibus going nowhere. Not best value to the council tax payers, is it!
We will once again participate in Make a Difference Day on Saturday 25th October and will invite other groups to join us and promote themselves too. Further details in next issue of Out n’ About.
